This Pride month, it is impossible for any LGBTQ person to not reflect on the riots at Stonewall -led in large part by transgender women of color -- as we bear witness to nationwide protests about the systemic racism against black people. Queer people are made up of every minority, and that includes our black brothers and sisters. We will only be equal when we are ALL equal.
The most important part of the Pride experience for me is the legacy of resilience -- refusing to be less than equal -- showing the nation, and the world, that we are HERE, LOUD & PROUD.
In a nation where equality is threatened in too many places, Tie The Knot is dedicated to supporting organizations that are on the ground fighting for equality and human rights for our LGBTQ+ community. In keeping with that promise, I am excited to let you know that we are donating 100% of the profits from our new Pride Collection to the Southern Poverty Law Center!
The Southern Poverty Law Center’s partnership with Tie The Knot seeks to show broad support for the LGBTQ community as the anti-LGBTQ hate groups and attacks rise across the country. More importantly, we want the LGBTQ community — from coast to coast — to know that we all have their backs.
