We were excited to partner with Chappy to host a discussion on "Pride and Your Influence," during NYC Pride! Orange Is The New Black actress Lea DeLaria joined Jesse Tyler Ferguson on stage for an evening of fun libations and light-hearted conversation on how we all can play an important part in moving our LGBTQ community forward, especially during Pride Month.
Pride has always been an important time for our community and Jesse and Lea shared how Pride celebrations have changed and evolved over the years, especially after a post-marriage equality world. "Educate, learn about the history and all those who opened the doors for you," said Jesse. The important thing to remember is that pride is not only a time to celebrate but also a time to learn about all the various communities within the #LGTBQ world and how we can all be a better ally for each other.
The Queer community has accomplished so much, and as long as we go forward with love and authenticity; the future of our community is bright.
